Is the seed yet in the barn? Indeed, the vine, the fig tree, the pomegranate, and the olive tree have yielded nothing. But from this day on I will bless you.” (Haggai 2:19 ESV)
It is time to expect the harvest from what has been planted in your life. While many have grown weary in well doing and discouraged by what their natural eyes have seen, there is a certainty that the seed in Asia has not been left in the barn, but rather has been planted in the soil of hearts throughout the region. As I prayed for Asia, I saw seed that had been planted deeply in the ground. When the seed was first planted, it was done well, but over time debris has accu[1]mulated across the surface of hearts in an attempt by the enemy to suffocate the destiny that God had established. For some this has re[1]sulted in a loss of hope that caused the heart to grow sick. For others continuing labor to tend the crop has left them weary in their efforts to do well. Still others have been choked by the weeds produced when the debris the enemy scattered carried with it the seeds of tares that found a place to spring up quickly and with little effort.
I heard the Lord’s still small voice call out to this region and declare. “Does the seed remain in the barn? No, it has been released and planted well. Do not allow what seems to be a lack of fruit to deter you from the confidence that there is a harvest coming.” I saw a great piece of machinery begin to make its way across the land – moving from east to west – and clearing away the debris that had been spread. Some of the debris was simply pushed aside, but in other places the roots of the weeds that had sprung up were pulled up leaving sections of the soil that were now disturbed. After this, water seemed to pour across the ground and both level the places that had been disturbed and seep deeply into the soil, saturating it and providing the moisture that the seed needed for germination. Soon small sprouts of life began to emerge from the earth and reach toward the heavens with leaves unfolding like hands lifted in worship. Everything seemed accelerated and within a matter of moments bare branches produced buds that flowered and then produced fruit.
There is no doubt that the weight that the Body of Christ has carried across Asia has damaged both the fields and the laborers in those fields. But now is not the time to give up or give in. The seed is not in the barn, but has been planted and preserved for such a time as this. The wait has been worth it and the fruit about to be produced is more desirable than either the church or the world has expected. Some would consider this a word relating to a harvest of souls and the coming of revival to this region. While I accept and pray for such an understanding to hold true and come forth, I am also convinced that there is coming a harvest of hope and a renewed recognition of God’s Presence. Holy Spirit is about to wash across the land and bring vision and destiny to life that many thought was long deceased. This is a season not simply to expect harvest, but first to look for renewed vision and restoration of eager expectations. The hard soil you have labored in is breaking up and life is pushing through
While there is a corporate application for this harvest word, there are also some very personal individual applications. This is a season for individuals to reclaim gifts that have been dormant and to dust off prophetic revelation that was set aside and almost forgotten. For many who read this, it is a time to renew dreams and once again begin to expect God to move. Many of you have walked through a Psalm 105:19 season. While the promises of God seemed real enough when spoken over your life, the test has come in waiting upon their fulfillment in a tangible way. God’s promises will test us until the very moment they come to pass. Begin to fan the prophetic words of the past back into flame and allow the gifts of God within you to stir fresh and new in this season. Don’t allow the enemy’s accusations to steal your hope and expectation in what has been spoken over your life. If the soil of the Kingdom is being softened in order for new life to spring forth, then enter into this season with an expectation that some of that life is going to spring forth in and through you.
